Your questions, comments or suggestions for development of this site are welcome
-  please

This site is linked to the voluntary Somerset Online Parish Clerk (OPC) project which aims to make parish information freely available to private researchers.  Where the transcribed information you require is not yet available on this site, The Charltons Historical Society is happy to do simple look-ups in our transcribed censuses, deposited registers or other such parish records completely free of charge.

However, if your enquiry requires information from registers not yet deposited, please note that the churches have the right to make a charge;  similarly for information from or copies of other original documents still held in the parish we hope that you may afterwards consider making a donation to the churches or to another of our village organisations, eg the School or Pre-School; the Community Hall & Playing Field; or the Reading Room, as you feel appropriate.

Charlton Mackrell Church is fund-raising for vital repairs to the roof of the church so, if you enjoy or obtain useful information from this village history website, a donation to their appeal would be greatly appreciated!

N.B.
All information, documents, pictures or other data provided on this website  (or following an enquiry) is for personal use only.  It should be properly acknowledged  in research and may not be published or reproduced in any form without permission.

A commissioned research and photography service is also available if required.
